restoring 1955 Ensign 150cc
When I first had the idea to restore a bike I did not know what to do, then my wife was in a collision and wrote her bike off so I stripped it down and salvaged what I could and about 4 months later now its better than mine.
But got no satisfaction, then I went to a steam fair and there was a section of very old bikes. I got talking to this bloke. He had got a 1921 sunbeam and he said I could have my pic taken sitting on the bike.
And since then I have wanted to own a piece of history. My wifes dream is allso to have ago in an old side car. Its her birthday on Sunday. I would pay and travel for my wife to do this, so if you know of anyone please let me know. It would make her so happy. Lucky bloke aint I, 3 nice kids, married for 17 years to a great woman who does love motorcycles any way I could talk ya head off.
Now i have a real bike: Royal Enfield Ensign 150 1955. Please let me know of anyone with side car. Will travel anywhere in country.
This is it: I picked it up yesterday; it cost me £300 and now I've got myself a little bit of history. I will send pics of it as I do it and the tales that go with the pics. I hope one day to come and visit ya all on it and may need hints and tips along the way. Where're ya all from?

I am only a week in to this project and I am well into it.
I had to swap some engine bits as I had two engines; cleaned it; I had
to replace the kick start spring, 'cause they were both shot; then got the
frame stripped and gave it some paint; then started on bits and bobs coil is
now connected; and painted and fixed to frame. Tank has had under coat and
first very rough couple of coats; spent 4 days in my shed non stop, because I
am on holiday from work for a week; its great when you do a referb.
Do ya replace nuts and bolts or try and use the old ones, cause I am trying to keep
the bike totaly standard, ie. use the old ones, but it dont look so good.
ps the tape holding the wires is a temp thing cause aint got no cable ties yet
