I own a 1952 (1953 in India) Royal Enfield J2 500 cc single cylinder twin port. Engine no: J2/10707 ; Chassis No J 10707.
I have attached a few pictures of my motorcycle, which I had bought recently. This was bought new and given to their news editor by a weekly magazine publisher in 1953. His job is to travel about 100 to 160 kms (one way distance) from our town to other towns to gather news. The publisher is Ananda Vikaten a Tamil weekly magazine. The editor retired from service in 1977 and retained the bike. He passed away in 2003 before when I purchased it. It is in running condition and I ride it once in a week. Everything in the bike is original except the exhausts, handlebar, grips and missing tail lamp.
The bike so far has never been repaired or restored, still has original paint, seats, cables and wiring. Needs to be restored. Can you suggest a source for spares?Regards
C.RajaRam.
